A young man desperately tries to rescue the young woman responsible for his survival, a sontries to uncover the sins of his father, and two sisters who have chosen opposing lifestyles try to keep acrimony at bay after years of separation. Set in Long Island, Brooklyn, and Haiti, STONES IN THE SUN examines the social and intimate landscapes of exile.

Micheline cannot understand the life of social activism her sister Yannick has chosen nor her desire to return to Haiti, and Yannick cannot understand Micheline’s quest for total assimilation in the United States. Max, a high-ranking member of the Haitian army, arrives unannounced at his son Gerald’shome in Brooklyn.
